Handling bug reports in bugs.meego.com
MeeGo users (and developers) file error reports and requests in bugs.meego.com. Triaging reports means to take a look at the incoming and existing bug reports to make sure that a problem has not already been reported before and that it has correct, enough and recent information before the assigned developer spends time on it.
Triaging is an easy way to get involved in a project and also a common entrance point. No programming skills and not much technology knowledge are required, just a bit of common sense and interest in reproducing and tracking down problems.
In this BoF interested people will be introduced to the basics of triaging, and the existing bugsquadders can discuss best practices, issues and pitfalls with regard to MeeGo's bugtracker. The slides list some of the mistakes made so far in Maemo and MeeGo bug management in an ironic way.
Also see maemo.org's wiki for more information about bugsquads & bug triaging.
