Application Design Survival Guide for Programmers
Each day open source development attracts more and more attention. Developers all around the world now willing to dive into this exciting journey. And today, not only low-level developers are interested in endless hacking possibilities but also many end-user oriented professionals are excited about open source world, such as designers, user interface or user experience architects. Interface Builder, Qt Designer, QML - these innovations, along with many others, have opened the doors to this world to many of those with bright mind and good will.
But all this goodness caused one big problem - every team now wants to have dedicated designer for their project but unfortunately there are no enough designers to fulfil all this blossoming garden of open source projects. Most of their army still sitting in their fortress of steel and glass, wit shiny fruits on the walls, afraid to look outside. Even kidnapping or carrot traps don't work most of the times.
But fear not, my fellow developers, I'll try to teach you some basic actions for situations, when you want to make your application look polished but all designers are already trapped and kidnapped by other teams. You will realize that sometimes you just need to follow several simple rules to succeed in interface architecture.
